There is no doubt that we live in a world where a lot of times reading just isn’t cool. We are surrounded by people who would rather tweet something than pick up a book that could possibly change their lives. I’m here to tell you that reading can be cool and here’s why.
I learned a lot of new words and phrases from books that I read. You don’t even have to have a dictionary a lot of the times they will be surrounded by context clues so you can just sort of understand what they mean. Plus in our world it helps to have a good vocabulary and reading can definitely help with that.
Some great fictional characters did it.
Come on guys, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Rory Gilmore from the Gilmore Girls? What did these two ladies have in common? They both loved to read, and you know what? They weren’t ashamed of it. Both ladies would sit out in public with people going by reading books because they simply didn’t care what others thought.
It can spark discussion.
For book lovers sometimes connecting over a good book is all you need to make a new friend or just to understand someone on a deeper level. So next time you see someone reading that book you really enjoyed go up and talk to them about it. And hey, if they blow you off just ignore them.
Reading is fun and if something being fun isn’t a reason to do it. I don’t know what is.
There are so many other reasons why you should pick up a good book and escape into a new world. So grab one open it up and start with the first word.
The bookcase I built in shop class. Yes I’m aware there’s a flip flop!
Hey a little bit of a side note. If you guys see any books on my case that you would like me to do a review over just let me know in the comments.
Thank you and may your day be as awesome as you are,

It seems weird to me starting a blog. Now I did have a website but that’s deleted now since I had honestly no clue what I was doing. However, after seeing posts from my aunt and a friend of mine I decided that starting a blog just might be what I need. This blog will probably not have a theme to it. Meaning that if I feel like blogging about something such as the latest book I’ve read and then two hours later I write a post about a Bible verse I will.
I will try and post at least once a week if not more.
Thank you and may you have many blessings,
I have started journaling again and even though it’s only been like a day I already feel like this is a good decision. I kept some kind of diary or journal from the time I was in like third or fourth grade up through my junior high years. However once I got into high school I stopped doing it as much. I don’t know why though because it really can help. Here are 3 reasons why you should keep a diary.
1. It relieves stress.
In a world where people just eventually stop caring about how bad your life is it can help to have someone to talk to. And all of my diaries became like best friends that I could talk to about anything. Writing really does help to relive stress and to get some things off of your chest. When I kept one I found myself just being a better person over all and not letting little things build up. I am so bad about ignoring my problems until they build up and I eventually just can’t hold it in any longer and I end up taking it out on ones that I love. Journaling really helps when you just need to let it out.
2. A new friend.
Like I said above a diary can become your new best friend. I have never really had a friend that I would tell absolutely everything to so keeping a diary is a great way for me to be able to talk about how I feel. Plus we all know there are some things that we would never ever tell anyone because we keep those things locked away in our hearts.
Imagine this your looking through your box of old things cleaning your house out and you pick up something. It’s a diary that you filled up through your freshmen year of highschool. You remember how nervous you were that first day as you open the book and start flipping through the pages. You see a few things you regret. “Why did that bother me so much?” “I had a crush on HIM?” But there are some things like your first date or the first friend you made that will stand out to you and make you stop for a minute and smile.
